1. Scope and current notice
This Privacy Policy explains current Fire Chess School practices for class and assessment enquiries, class registrations, tournaments, CIS programs, Student, Parent and Coach accounts, contact forms, online payments, Chess Store orders and ordinary website use.
The current enrolled-student parental-consent notice is version FCS-PRIVACY-2026-08-24.1, effective 24 August 2026. Fire Chess School monitors Indian data-protection requirements as their provisions and supporting rules become applicable, but this page does not claim a certification or complete legal compliance status.
2. Information we may collect

- Class, tournament, CIS, order, product, fee, payment-status, receipt, delivery and customer-support records.
- Technical records processed by hosting, security, database and authentication systems, such as IP address, browser or device information, request logs, session identifiers and security events.
3. How information is used
Information is used to respond to enquiries, assess and enrol students, deliver classes and CIS programs, administer tournaments, fulfil and support Chess Store orders, process and reconcile payments, operate secure portals, communicate schedules and progress, issue reports or certificates, support safeguarding, prevent misuse, maintain security, resolve requests and disputes, and meet applicable obligations.
4. Payments
Payments are redirected to the applicable payment-provider interface. Fire Chess School keeps the transaction identifiers, amount, currency, status, provider response needed for verification, and receipt or refund records. It does not intentionally collect or store full card numbers, CVV values, UPI PINs or payment-app passwords. Enter sensitive payment credentials only in the interface provided by the bank or payment provider.
5. Service providers and disclosures
Information may be shared only as reasonably necessary with providers supporting website hosting, database, authentication and private storage; payments and receipts; configured transactional communications; document generation; physical-order delivery; professional support; or an agreed school or tournament program. The current website uses Sites hosting and Supabase services. Payment and communication providers process only the information needed for the requested operation when those integrations are used. Information may also be disclosed when required by law or needed to protect students, users or systems. Fire Chess School does not sell personal information.
6. Children, Parent accounts and consent
A public assessment form asks the submitting adult for an affirmative authorization and records the notice version and time for new submissions. That pre-enrolment submission is separate from the enrolled-student consent record.
For an enrolled minor student, the Parent Portal records consent only when the signed-in user has an active Parent profile and an active Parent-child link created by an authorized Admin. Nothing is selected in advance. The adult must affirm being at least 18 and being the student's parent or lawful guardian, then accept the displayed, versioned notice. The record stores the Parent, Student, relationship, notice version, method, time and withdrawal lifecycle. It stores no password, Aadhaar number or identity-document copy.
The portal action is based on the authenticated, Admin-linked Parent account and adult or guardian declarations. It is not described as OTP, email-link, Aadhaar, digital-signature or identity-document verification. Fire Chess School may request additional evidence where appropriate. CIS or tournament information submitted through a participating school or organizer may instead be handled under that confirmed arrangement and applicable authorization.
7. Access and security
Database row-level security and protected operations limit records by role and relationship. A Student sees only authorized student-visible records for that account; a Parent sees the Parent profile and actively linked children; a Coach sees assigned educational records; and Admin access is restricted to authorized administrators. Private files use restricted storage or short-lived signed links where implemented. Auth creation and password administration remain server-only, and application tables do not store portal passwords. No online system can promise absolute security.
8. Browser storage, cookies and tracking
As of the Last Updated date, the Fire Chess School source contains no third-party analytics, advertising pixels, targeted-ad scripts, session-replay tools or browser-fingerprinting code. Those tools are not loaded in the Student, Parent or Coach portals.
Supabase Auth uses essential browser local storage for signed-in session tokens. Session storage is used for the Chess Store cart, a short referral code for an online-class enquiry, and short-lived payment-return state containing a payment reference, opaque payment token, amount, currency and purchase type. This storage is operational, not behavioral advertising. Hosting, security, authentication and payment providers may set or process their own essential request or session data. Blocking essential storage may prevent secure sign-in, cart or payment-return features from working.
9. Withdrawal, deactivation and erasure requests
An authenticated Parent can request withdrawal for the actively linked student from Privacy & Consent in the Parent Portal. The request is time-stamped and placed in an Admin review queue. Fire Chess School aims to acknowledge a complete privacy or consent request within 3 business days. Admin then reviews affected services, safeguarding needs, completed transactions, disputes and records that must still be retained before recording completion.
Withdrawal does not make earlier processing unlawful, automatically cancel a paid service, deactivate a Parent or Student account, or immediately delete records. Account deactivation, service cancellation and erasure are separate requests. Fire Chess School will stop consent-based processing within a reasonable period after review unless continued processing is required or authorized for another lawful purpose.
10. Retention
There is no single automated deletion period for every category in the current system. Enquiry records are retained while the request and reasonable follow-up remain active. Educational and account records are retained while services and protected history are needed. Payment, order, certificate, consent, security and dispute records may be retained longer where necessary for verification, safeguarding, audit, legal claims or applicable obligations. When a purpose ends and retention is no longer needed, Fire Chess School will delete or de-identify information through a controlled review.
11. Access, correction, complaints and contact
Subject to applicable law and identity or authority checks, a person may ask for a summary of personal information, correction or updating, withdrawal of consent, or erasure of information no longer needed. A parent or guardian may make an appropriate request for a minor. Contact Fire Chess School using the details below. If the request concerns a student, include enough information to identify the Parent-student relationship without sending a password or sensitive payment credential.
12. Updates to this notice
Material changes will receive a new notice version and Last Updated date. A previously recorded enrolled-student consent remains tied to the version shown in its history; a new affirmative action can be requested where a change requires renewed consent.
